A true Holy Rosary man is an accurate description of Darren. Since the age of two, he has been attending mass at the Park Avenue Catholic Church and completed eight years of education from the school. In 1986, he graduated from CBHS and continued his education at the University of Tennessee-Martin, where he met his wife Betty Ann. He received his BS in Education and returned home to begin his new adventure at Holy Rosary. While serving as Youth Director, Director of Religious Education and teacher at Holy Rosary Mr. Mullis completed his Master of Arts in Religion from Memphis Theological Seminary. Also during this time he completed the Leadership Academy through the Education department of the Diocese of Memphis.
In 2003, he was appointed the Principal of the Elementary School at Holy Rosary and continues to serve in that capacity. During that time, the school has adopted a text book renewal cycle, opened up a gifted program, received reaccreditation from SACS, expanded its preschool to include three year olds, added a Mother’s Day Out program, upgraded the science lab, added the Angel Program for children with autism and has installed new technology in the classrooms. His spiritual journey continues at Holy Rosary with his family as parishioners of the church and his two daughters, Lucy and Maddia, attend the school. Sharing his religion and being a positive role model are his constant goals. The students of Holy Rosary are all gifts from God and Mr. Mullis is continuously seeking positive ways to serve them.
A lifelong Memphian, Mrs. Anne Gardino has been the Assistant Principal for the last 14 years. She attended Holy Rosary Elementary School, graduated from Immaculate Conception High School and received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from the University of Memphis. Over the last 41 years she has taught in both public and private schools in various capacities; 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade teacher, Resource, and special education. In 1997, after earning her Master’s Degree in Special Education from the U of M, Anne launched the Learning Lab program at Holy Rosary School. Now the third generation of the Gardino Family is attending HRS!
Helen was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Settled in Memphis in 1968 and graduated from Bishop Byrne High School and attended Memphis State University. After marrying and living in 5 different cities I returned to Memphis in 1980. My three children began school at Holy Rosary at that time and 4 years later I became a secretary here. This is my 31st year as a secretary at Holy Rosary School. All three of my children graduated from Holy Rosary and now I have 6 of my 9 grandchildren attending here as well. Holy Rosary has truly been a home away from home for me for 35 years.
I’m a born and raised Memphian who has been happily married to Jerry for 27 years. When we came to Holy Rosary to enter Grace Ann in Kindergarten, we knew no one here but jumped in with both feet. I was a scout leader, room mom, served on the mother’s club board for 7 years, worked aftercare, summer camp, was the assistant cafeteria manager for 5 years, and Jerry and I have been cooking Wednesday Night Dinner for the last 6 years. Grace Ann graduated from here, and is currently a junior at St Benedict, but I stayed because I was not ready to leave my HRS family. I started as secretary here in August and in September had my 10 year anniversary as a Holy Rosary employee. I couldn’t be happier.
Office of Develpoment
Kathy Elmer hails from the great state of Missouri but has called many other states home for the pasts 23 years. Mrs. Elmer relocated to Memphis, TN by way of San Diego, CA in 2001 and feels like she has found her second home. She graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) and began her career in pediatrics at the University Hospital. After relocating to St. Louis, MO she completed her Masters of Science in Nursing of Children with an emphasis in Research (MSN(R) from St. Louis University and continued to work in Pediatric Nursing for 20 years. After moving to Memphis, the Elmer Family joined the Holy Rosary community where her sons graduated from Holy Rosary School. During her time as the Mothers’ Club President, Mrs. Elmer realized that she had a passion for promoting Holy Rosary. Between her gift of gab and willingness to ask anyone for anything for Holy Rosary she found her new calling in working with the school in the Office of Development. In addition to her job at Holy Rosary, for the past 13 years Mrs. Elmer has worked as the Volunteer Co-Chair for the Memphis Italian Festival with her partner in crime, Mrs. Tina Young.
Mrs. Elmer has worked at Holy Rosary for 11 years and can’t imagine being anywhere else. She has been married to her husband Scott for 31 years and together they are the proud parents of two sons. Mrs. Elmer is a Royals Baseball fan by birth but became a Cardinals fan by marriage and when not at Holy Rosary she is probably somewhere watching a baseball game.
A native Memphian and graduate of ITT Technical Institute, has managed Holy Rosary’s Information Technology since January 2015. Prior to becoming the Technology Director, he spent two and a half years as Athletic Director for Holy Rosary and seven years managing IT operations for warehousing companies in the private business sector. Mr. Hall’s experience in IT spans running warehousing support systems, managing servers, operating Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server. He received his Associate’s Degree in Information Technology-Computer Networking Systems from ITT Technical Institute in Memphis, TN in June 2006. He has been married to Amy for 14 years and has one son William who attends Holy Rosary.

Mrs. Becky Lawler is a native of New Orleans, La. She has called Memphis home for 15 years. She has taught at Immaculate Conception Elementary School and St. Agnes Academy/ St. Dominic School. She has 6 years experience with early childhood at Holy Spirit Mother’s Day Out. She has three children who are all enrolled at Holy Rosary School. Mrs. Lawler is very excited to be in a PreK 3 classroom.
Mrs. Barbara Davis graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She taught English in Japan for three years before starting her family. She founded the Holy Rosary Mother’s Day Out program, where she was Director for 6 years before becoming a 3K teacher. She has been a 3K teacher at Holy Rosary since 2011.
Nicole McDaniel was born and raised outside of New Orleans and moved to Memphis 15 years ago. She graduated from University of Memphis, where she obtained a degree in Early Childhood Education with a teaching license for Pre-K through third grade. She has been teaching Pre-K at Holy Rosary for the past 7 years.
Veronica Kelly was born and raised in Memphis. She is a lifelong parishioner of Holy Rosary Church and graduated from Holy Rosary School. She earned her Radiologic Technologist Degree and she is a licensed Ultrasonographer. She attended Methodist University Hospital and practiced ultrasound for 10 years. She joined Holy Rosary last fall and is enjoying her second year as a teacher's aide.
Mrs. Roxanne Doyle was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She graduated from The University Of Tennessee Knoxville with a degree in Early Childhood Development. She has taught preschool for 13 years and plans on teaching for many many more.
Nelle Van Brocklin
Nelle Van Brocklin is a native of Memphis, TN. She comes to Holy Rosary after serving young students for over 20 years. She began her career at Idelwild Elementary and subsequently served special needs students in the Memphis City Schools. Before coming to Holy Rosary, Mrs. Van Brocklin helped to facilitate the Parent’s Day Out Program at Second Baptist Church in Memphis. Mrs. Van Brocklin attended Shelby State University and Memphis State University. She is looking forward to a great year in the 4K classroom assisting Roxanne Doyle.
Denise Nall graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Bachelor of Science in Education (K-8). She has been teaching for 24 years. Over the years she has taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 4th grade and 6th, 7th, 8th grade Science.
Kim Herndon graduated from Rhodes College with a degree in Sociology & Anthropology. This is her second year as a Kindergarten Aide after three years as the Director of Mothers' Day Out. She is the mother of two boys who attend Holy Rosary.
Mrs. Allison Moore is an alumna from Holy Rosary and this is her 11th year teaching. She graduated from Lambuth University in 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. In 2012 she completed her Master’s Degree from Walden University with a specialty in Reading and Literacy. Throughout the years, she has taught second grade at St. John Catholic School, was the Librarian here at Holy Rosary, and is now in her 4th year teaching Kindergarten.

Mrs. Fay graduated from Christian Brothers University. After spending time at home raising six kids, she began working at HRS as a Primary School Aide. She has worked with the 1st and 2nd grade classes since 2012.

She also received her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Memphis. She attended Holy Rosary School as a child and is very excited to start her career at this amazing school that is very close to her heart.

Mrs. Megan Hubbard has lived in Memphis, Tennessee her entire life. She began working at HRS in our Angel Program where she shadowed 1st-2nd grade students in the mainstream classroom. She has been teaching 2nd grade since 2013 and loves it! She is a graduate of the University of Memphis with her degree in Elementary Education. Susan Seebeck was born in New Jersey and has lived in Hawaii and Wisconsin before moving to Tennessee. She and her husband, Mike, have three children, all of whom are Holy Rosary graduates and University of Memphis graduates…….Go Tigers!
Susan graduated from The University of Wisconsin with a degree in Elementary Education for grades 1-8. This is her sixteenth year teaching third grade at Holy Rosary School and is looking forward to it being another great year!

Mrs. Grisanti graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Art Education and Art History. After post-graduate studies she became certified to not only teach art K-12 but also in a tradition classroom setting through eighth grade. She taught at Immaculate Conception Cathedral School for 9 years where she taught PreK-2 through high school advance placement classes. After a very brief stop in the City Schools she returned to the Catholic Diocese and began teaching at Holy Rosary. She was also able to combine her love of animals and teaching by being on the staff of the education department at The Memphis Zoo. It was there that she enjoyed teaching, writing curriculum and presenting animals. In her free time she enjoys international travel, reading, playing and coaching soccer. She is currently teaching third grade.

Mrs. Sheila Balton is a native of Pontiac, Michigan. She has been teaching for 30 plus years, and during that time she has taught fourth grade, second grade, and learning lab. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in elementary education. She has been at Holy Rosary School for her entire teaching career.

Mrs. Alice Boyette is a native of the of Highland Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. She has lived in Alamogordo, NM and Las Cruces, NM where she attended New Mexico State University. There she received a B.S. in Home Economics in Business. Currently she is a fourth grade aide at Holy Rosary where she has worked for 16 years.
Fith Grade Teacher
Mrs. Miller grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, but has moved several times due to her husband's job with the Department of Defense. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Miller is certified to teach in three states and has been teaching for 26 years. This is currently Mrs. Miller's sixth year of teaching 5th grade at Holy Rosary. She previously taught preschool, first and second grade in Ohio and kindergarten and third grade in California. Mrs. Miller is also the director of Holy Rosary Dance Academy teaching ballet, tap, modern and jazz forms of dance to students from preschool age through eighth grade. Mrs. Miller loves learning from her students and keeping up with new instructional methods to ensure learning is fresh and challenging.

Mrs. Griffin is a graduate of Memphis State University where she received both a Masters in Fitness & Wellness and her Teaching Certificate. Mrs. Griffin taught for the Memphis City Schools for 11 years before joining the Holy Rosary Faculty in 2005.
Middle School Teacher - Reading & Language Arts
Mrs. Woodward graduated from Purdue University with a Master’s Degree in Education. This is her 10th year to teach at Holy Rosary School. She is looking forward to a great year teaching Language Arts to 8th graders and Reading to 6th graders.
Middle School Teacher - Social Studies
Mrs. Curtis is a native of Memphis and graduated from White Station High School. She has been teaching at Holy Rosary for 21 years. She taught first grade for 13 years and is now in her 8th year of teaching middle school social studies. She graduated from University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in political science and history and then received her education certification from University of Memphis. Mrs. Curtis is looking forward to a great year with the middle school students at HRS!
Middle School Teacher - Math
Angela Bledsoe earned her undergraduate teaching degree from the University of Northern Colorado and earned her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. She has taught middle school students for 15 years. She taught Middle School Math in Denver Public Schools for 6 years. In 2007, she moved back to the Memphis area and taught Literature and Math at Incarnation for 3 years. In 2010, she came to Holy Rosary to be the Middle School Math teacher. Over the years she has also taught Social Studies, English and Religion to middle school students. She very much enjoys the minds of middle school students and her goal each year is to help students to at least like, if not love, math.

Mrs. Nunn was born in Japan, grew up in Virginia Beach, VA, and has lived in Memphis for the past nine years. She graduated with a Masters in Teaching from Christian Brothers University. She came to Holy Rosary School after teaching Kindergarten for M.C.S. This will be her fourth year teaching Middle School Science.
Middle School Teacher - Language Arts
Tina Young is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor in Elementary Education. She has taught in the Catholic Diocese System for over 30 years, 16 of them at Holy Rosary School. She currently teaches Language Arts to 6th and 7th grades. She is determined to teach students how to write 5 paragraph essays! She is the cheer faculty sponsor and helps with Student Council. She attends the Wordsmith Writing Competition with her 7th grade students. Along with school activities, she is the co-chairmen of the volunteers for the Memphis Italian Festival. Mrs. Young is married to Shane Young and has four children: Rachel, Robby, Ragan, and Ryan, who graduated from Holy Rosary School.
Middle School Teacher - Religion
Mrs. Laina Haff is a native of Alexandria, Louisiana. This is her 11th year to teach middle school Religion at Holy Rosary. Prior to coming to Holy Rosary, she taught second grade in the Memphis City School system for 10 years and was a stay at home mom for her 3 children for 10 years. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University and remains a loyal fan of the LSU Tigers.

Learning Lab - Elementary
Mrs. Anne Hogan grew up in Memphis and is a proud Memphian. She holds a BFA in Performing Arts from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a Masters in Elementary Education from Christian Brothers University; both degrees were received with honors. Before coming to Holy Rosary, Mrs. Hogan spent 3 years as a Reading Interventionist and a member of the Intervention Data Analysis Team for Memphis City Schools. Mrs. Hogan has also been teaching classes at Playhouse on the Square since 2010. Mrs. Hogan joined Holy Rosary School in 2011. She currently teaches Learning Lab for grades Kindergarten through 5th and directs the Middle School Drama Club. As she likes to say, “Sometimes I teach. Sometimes I act. Sometimes I teach acting.”

Mrs. Boutwell graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology. This is her third year to teach Middle School Learning Lab at Holy Rosary. She is looking forward to another amazing year.
Mrs. Craven has been Holy Rosary’s computer teacher since 1996. For the past 20 years, Mrs. Craven has also assisted as technician, managing the school’s network and website, and classroom teachers with technology integration. Mrs. Craven attended Northwestern University and tries to diligently stay abreast of ever growing technologies. Her varied background enables her to offer students an instructor who is diversified, productive and compassionate.
Mrs. Douglas is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. She has been teaching in Catholic Schools for 8 years (Sacred Heart Cathedral School in Knoxville, TN for 4 years, and Holy Rosary in Memphis for 4 years). She is a graduate student at the University of Memphis seeking her Master of Arts in Teaching degree. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in liberal arts Her family has been in Memphis since 2012.
Mrs. “E” is a native of Memphis and former Holy Rosary student. She has been teaching at Holy Rosary School for seventeen years. Over the years she has taught 4K for three years and physical education for 14 years. She attended University of Memphis (GO TIGERS!) and received physical education certification through San Diego University’s SPARK program (Sports, Play, and Active Recreation for Kids). She initiated the first karate program at Holy Rosary School, which is in its fifth year. She has coached over twenty – five teams at HRS and was a Girl Scout leader for 14 years. She has been a RAINBOWS facilitator for fifteen years.
Mrs. Nancy Neal is a native of Memphis. She has enjoyed a wonderful and varied teaching career for over 43 years. She started teaching a Learning Disabilities class at Germantown Elementary School, then taught at Lambuth University for 5 years where she was an Instructor of Education and wrote and taught their Special Education Program. At Lambuth she supervised student teachers and was a consultant to school systems in West Tennessee for their programs for special needs from the multi-handicapped to gifted students. Mrs. Neal taught at Kyoritsu Gakuen in Yokohama, Japan for 2 years. Upon returning to Memphis, she designed and taught the learning disabilities program at Evangelical Christian School. She taught developmental math and algebra at Southwest Tennessee Community College for 7 years before going to Westminster Academy where she and her husband served on the board. After 3 years on the board for Westminster, she taught 6th and 4th grades there for a total of 10 years. Nancy graduated from Lambuth University with a degree in Elementary Education. She received her MEd in Special Education from The University of Memphis and did post-graduate studies at George Peabody of Teachers and The University of Western Colorado at Greely. She has been at Holy Rosary for 4 years.
Mrs. Lynch graduated from Arkansas State with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. She was a kindergarten aide for seven and a half years before taking the library position in the fall of 2012. This is her twelfth year at Holy Rosary and fourth year as librarian. She is looking forward to another fun and challenging school year!
Mrs. Veronica B. Espin is a native of Queretaro, Mexico. She is a graduate from John F. Kennedy Business School. She moved to Memphis in 1996. She has been teaching Spanish for 12 years. This is her eight year to teach at Holy Rosary School.
French & Latin
Mrs. Antoinette Galler is the French and Latin teacher at Holy Rosary School. She attended and earned a B. A. in History and French from Siena College and a M.A. from the University of Memphis. During the 29 years at Holy Rosary she has taught History , Geography, Reading, and Religion. Mrs. Galler presently teaches K -8 French and Latin.
Mrs. Dieck earned her Bachelor of Science in Special Education and her Masters of Education in School Counseling from Memphis State University. Her past work experience includes counseling, teaching, consulting and school administration in private and public schools and institutions. This is Mrs. Dieck’s 13th year at Holy Rosary.
Anna Cornelius began with the Angel Program on its very first day and , in the program's 6th year, became the director. She was born and raised in Memphis and received her Undergraduate's degree in psychology. In August 2016 she will graduate with her Master's degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis.
Jessica Carnell received both her Bachelors in Psychology and Masters in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership with a concentration in special education and applied behavior analysis from the University of Memphis. She has over 12 years’ experience working with children with developmental delays. Having worked in a variety of settings, including homes, community, and schools, Jessica is passionate about positive, well-structured environments in which children can successfully learn and play.
She currently works at Holy Rosary as an Angel Program consultant. Jessica has further training in Orton and Gillingham Multisensory teaching methods, Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI), and Social Thinking.
Mrs. Allison Buchannan graduated from University of Memphis with a degree in Journalism and is now completing her Master's in Elementary Education. She has been at Holy Rosary for a year and a half, first as a summer camp teacher, then a 3k interim substitute and now is an Angel teacher for our program for children with Autism. She truly enjoys teaching at such a wonderful school and is very excited for her future in education!
Diana Drinan graduated from the University of Alabama with a major in English Literature and a minor in Psychology. She graduated from University of Memphis with a Masters degree in Elementary Education. This is her second year in the Angel program at Holy Rosary. She is looking forward to a great year in second grade!
Mrs. Rachel Joyner was born and raised in Memphis. She has a BA in Social Work and a minor in Nonprofit Management from University of Memphis. This is her second year as an Angel teacher. This past year Mrs. Joyner went to Ann Arbor, MI to become a certified and licensed play consultant through PLAY Project. She has been working in home and in the school setting since 2014. She is looking forward to a great year in 3k!
Emily Maharrey is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. She has been with the Angel Program for one year, but also has worked in the aftercare program for 5 years. Within the next year, she will graduate from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and plans to continue on to get her Master’s. Fun fact: she attended Holy Rosary from Kindergarten to 8th grade! She has enjoyed all of her years here at Holy Rosary.
Kelsey Panitz is a native of Memphis, TN. She has been working with the Angel Program for three years. She graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in Teaching All Learners. She has been at St. Ann school for three years. She is looking forward to a successful year!
Ms. Roxanne Sanders attended Christian Brothers University and obtained a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked with The Angel Program for five years and is currently a behavior support in the 4K classroom.
Andrea Van Horn
Ms. Zinkl is from St. Louis, MO where she worked as an ABA paraprofessional for four years. Ms. Zinkl has her undergrad degree in Criminology, and after completing her masters in Special Education with an Emphasis in Autism Spectrum Disorder she moved to Memphis. This is her first year with the ANGEL program, and first year as a classroom teacher. She is looking forward to a great school year!
