Parent Player Agreement
A wide variety of extracurricular activities are offered to students at Holy Rosary in order to meet the needs and interests of the students. Taking part in any extracurricular activity is a privilege and students AND parents must do their best to represent HR in a positive manner. In order to ensure adequate communication, this letter is specifically designed to convey to parents and students the requirements needed in order to participate.
Sports Physical, Concussion and SCA Forms: Before a student is allowed to participate in Holy Rosary’s athletic program, he or she must submit signed copies of the concussion and SCA forms and a physical to the AD.
Fees: Prior to participating in the first practice, all sport registration fees must be paid. If you have financial restraints, please email the athletic director to arrange a payment plan. See the Fee Breakdown sheet for more information.
Attendance: Participants are expected to attend all practices, meetings, and games. It is REQUIRED that the parent notifies the coach if their child will be absent. If the athlete does not attend school that day for ANY reason, the athlete will not be allowed to participate in any athletic event that day.
Behavior: Athletes are expected to demonstrate exemplary behavior at school and extracurricular functions/events. Parents, as well as students, should always display appropriate sportsmanship during all games. Questioning the coach’s decisions and/or yelling at the referees are displays of poor sportsmanship and disrespect. Parents should serve as positive role models at school functions and should remain orderly.
Playing Time: Coaches determine the playing time of each player in 5th-8th grade. An equal playing time rule is in effect for all 1st-4th grade sports.
Parent Concerns: Parents are not to approach a coach before, during, or after a game to discuss playing time or other concerns. Parents are to wait 24 hours AFTER the game/practice to contact coach/AD with their concerns. Parents can schedule an appointment with the coach and athletic director at a predetermined date and time so that adequate attention can be given to the matter at hand.
